College Shares Top Spot in US News & World Report's Best Colleges

Named One of Two Schools Wth Most Students Over 25 in 2011 Best Colleges
TRENTON, NJ(August 18, 2010) —Thomas Edison State College shares the top spot as the number one institution in the country with the most students over the age of 25 in US News & World Report’s 2011 edition of Best Colleges.

Thomas Edison State College is tied with Sonoma State University in California for the top spot in the category, which focuses on the percentage of undergraduate students who are 25 and older. Thomas Edison State College and Sonoma State University have 88 percent of its undergraduate student population over the age of 25.

Established in 1972, Thomas Edison State College is the only New Jersey institution of higher education dedicated exclusively to adults. Approximately 18,700 students are enrolled at the college, including more than 17,000 undergraduates. In addition, Thomas Edison State College is recognized as one of the top institutions in the country serving members of the U.S. military and veterans.
