Prior to joining the College in 2007, Dr. Devine served for more than 30 years with Public Service Electric and Gas Company (PSE&G) and served as an adjunct professor at Centenary College.
At Thomas Edison State College, Dr. Devine has played a key role organizing, planning and coordinating curriculum development and implementation; recruitment; strategy development and implementation; and research and development activities for the School of Applied Science and Technology.
He played a key role in developing partnerships in the energy utility industry to create the nation's first online bachelor's degree program in energy utility technology, as part of the educational programs offered by the College to serve the workforce needs of the industry. He was also instrumental in developing the College's Master of Science in Applied Science and Technology degree as well as its undergraduate programs in Gas Distribution and Polysomnography. He has served on technical advisory committees for energy utility technology degree development at three New Jersey community colleges, presents nationally on curriculum design for energy and utility-related degree programs and on the assessment of adult and experiential learning. He is a member of the American Society for Training & Development.
Dr. Devine earned a Bachelor of Science in industrial education from the University of Wisconsin - Stout, Menomonie, Wis.; a Master of Education in trade and industrial education from Rutgers University, New Brunswick, N.J.; a Master of Business Administration from Fairleigh Dickinson University, Madison, N.J.; and a Ph.D. from Capella University.
